Getting Started

This is the official Sublime Blog Pro theme documentation page. Unlike free themes there are lots of features on the Pro Version. Let me guide you with all the features that the pro theme has to offer.

Installation

You can easily install our theme.

Upload theme

  1. Go to Appearance > Themes in the WordPress Dashboard
  2. Click on the Add New button
  3. Click on the Upload link and select sublimeblogpro.zip
  4. Click on Install Now button

Activate Theme

Go to Appearance > Themes in the WordPress Dashboard.
Now, hover over the theme thumbnail and press the Activate button

Site Identity

This theme supports the default site identity given by the WordPress. You can use Logo, Site Title, Tagline & Site Icon Upload which is supported in our Theme. Additionally we have added Logo width option as well. Logo width helps you to increase/decrease your logo width from the Customizer.

Site Title Font

Additionally in Pro Theme we have added option of choosing Site Title Font and its weight along with Site Title Font size as well.

Homepage Settings

A static home page is like you are customizing the front door of your website. By default, your home page is your blog, but you can change this to any page you’ve created!

Set a Static Front Page

  1. Go to Appearance > Customizer > Homepage Settings.
  2. Locate the Homepage Settings option. (To see this option the site needs to have at least one published page).
  3. Select the A static page option, then choose your new page from the Homepage drop down.The preview window will display your newly selected page as the front page of your site.
  4. Click on the Save Changes button to save your homepage settings.

Custom Menu

By default, the menus will fallback to Pages. You will only see all the pages as menus right after activation of the theme.You can select all the posts, pages,archives,categories and custom post types as well.

Set up Custom menu

  1. Go to Appearance > Menus in the WordPress menu
  2. Click on Create a new menu link
  3. Give a name to your menu in Menu Name and click Create Menu button
  4. Now choose the pages, categories, custom links from the leftside of your screen by selecting the checkbox and click on Add Menu
  5. Click Save Menu after adding required pages, categories in the menu

Colors

Sublime blog supports the background Color feature. For this

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Colors section.
  2. Now, choose the required colors for your site there.You can choose Primary Color, Header Text Color,Background Color,Footer Text Color & Footer Background Color.
  3. Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.

Background Image

Sublime blog supports the Background image feature as well. For this

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Background Image > Background Image section.
  2. Now, choose the required background image for your site there.
  3. After you have chosen the required background image for your site here, you can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.

Theme Options

Well Sublime Blog Pro extensively provides Premium features from this section.

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option section.
  2. Now, navigate to the respective features.

Header Options

Header Options includes all the options that are there in header of our Pro theme. Basically we have divided this into two different parts Settings and Layouts.

Header Option Settings

Enable Sticky Header: Here you can make your header sticky so that it sticks at the top of screen whenever you scroll down the website. You can hit Publish button once you have selected this.

Enable Header Search: Here you can enable/disable Header Search that appears on the header of different header layouts on the pro theme.You can hit Publish button once you have selected this.

Header Option Layouts

Navigate to Header Option in layouts to change the overall layouts of header. There are 4 header layouts in total in this pro theme. You can select on of them and hit publish on the top to reflect changes on the Front end of theme.

Ad Widget

Add “Custom HTML or Image” widget in header AD section. Recommended size is 728px X 90px. This widget only display in header layout three. For this navigate to 

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Header AD Widget.
  2. Now as shown in the image below add “Custom HTML or Image” widget in header AD section. Recommended size is 728px X 90px. This widget only display in header layout three.
  3. You can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site

Banner Options

Sublime Blog Pro offers wide variety of options on the Banner Section of the theme. You have three options in the Banner Option as shown in the image below.

Static/Video CTA Banner

You can select Static/Video CTA Banner from the Banner Options. You will land up in the sections where you can change your static image with text, short description Button and alignments. You can choose Header Video as well where you can upload your own video(.mp4 extension) or you can add YouTube Video URL as well.

For static image you can upload the image in the Header Image part.

There are options for Title,Subtitle,Banner Label, Banner Link and Banner Content Alignment as well. You can change them as per your need and hit publish button on the top.

Banner Slider Type

If you want to enable the Banner Slider type then you have to choose Slider Banner as an option in Banner Options. There are 4 options to choose from as shown in the image below.

Latest Posts

If you choose Latest Posts, all the recent posts you have published will be selected in the slider.

Category
If you go with Category, you can choose to select a category from which you can display the sliders as shown in the image below.
 
Pages
If you go with Pages, you can select pages from the list of pages in the repeater as shown in the image below.
 
Custom Slider
If you choose Custom Slider, then you can just create your own slider by adding Image Title and Link.
 

Slider Options

You have numerous options in the slider. You can play with the slider settings and choose which fits you the best. You can check the below image to get some idea about the slider options.

Number of Slides: You can choose the number of slides on the slider from this settings

Include Repetitive Posts: You can enable this option to add posts included in slider in the blog page too.

Slider Auto: Enable if you want your slider auto transition.

Slider Loop: Enable if you want to loop your slider from very beginning.

Slider Caption: Enable Slider Caption to show the Title, Subtitle and Button Link.

Full Image: This option allows you to render the full image size that you have uploaded on the Media. Remember this might make your slider little bit inconsistent if you have not properly cropped your image when uploading to the Media.

Slider Animation: If you want to animate your slider Choose some of the cool animations from the drop down

Slider Autoplay Speed: Enable this to control the Autoplay of the slider. This speed is calculated in miliseconds.

Slider Autoplay Timeout: Enable this to control the Autoplay interval timeout of the slider. This speed is calculated in miliseconds.

Once you have played around with these options. Hit the publish button on the top of customizer.

Slider Layout

There are 4 slider layouts in the theme right now. You can choose between one of them and hit publish.

Featured Section

Premium Version of the Sublime Blog allows you to add an additional section called Featured Section where you can add your featured posts. For this navigate to 

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Featured Section.
  2. Now, enable the featured section as you can see there is a toggle to switch on and off the section.
  3. After you have enable the section you can add your Title and add some posts from the selector drop down as in the screenshot below, you can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site

Ad Widget

You can now add your own advert in this theme as well. For this navigate to 

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > AD Widget.
  2. Now as shown in the image below Add “Custom HTML or Image” widget in AD section. Recommended size is 1170 X 154px.
  3. You can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site

 

Blog & Archive Settings

All the settings that involves Blog and archives pages are explain in this Blog & Archive Settings. For this navigate to

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Blog & Archive Settings.
  2. You can see numerous options where you can play around with the settings.
  3. You can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.

Blog & Archive Settings

Archive Prefix: You can disable this option to hide the prefix in the archive pages.

Original Image Size: You can enable this option to show original size uploaded image as featured image in home, archive and search posts.

Modified Post Date: You can enable this option to show modified post date in posts.

Author Avatar: You can enable this option to show author avatar in post meta.

Drop Cap: You can enable this option to show first letter of word in post content.

Excerpt: You can enable this option to show excerpt. If you want to show full post content disable this option.

Excerpt Length: Choose number of words in automatically generated excerpt.

Read More Text: You can write your own Read More text in archive pages.

Meta Order: You can now Drag & Drop items to re-arrange the order. To hide the element click on the eye icon.

After you have played around with the options you can hit Publish Button at the top of customizer.

Blog Layouts

Navigate to Layouts option to change the overall layouts of Blog/Archive Layout. There are 4 different blog/archive layouts in total in this pro theme. You can select on of them and hit publish on the top to reflect changes on the front end of theme.

Instagram Section

Instagram Section allows you to display all the photos you have uploaded on Instagram from your account. Please add “Instagram Feed” widget in Instagram section.

Breadcrumb Settings

Breadcrumbs are integrated in the theme by default. You just have to enable the option to show the breadcrumbs. To do that 

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Customizer > Theme Options > Breadcrumbs Settings.
  2. You can then enable the option and configure Home Text and Separator from the settings.
  3. Hit Publish whenever you have finished your changes.

Single Post Page Settings

All the settings that involves posts and pages are listed in this Single Post Page Settings. For this navigate to

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Options > Single Post Page Settings.
  2. You can see numerous options where you can play around with the settings for posts and pages.
  3. You can now click on Save & Publish button to save the changes in your site.

Post/Pages Settings

Original Image Size: You can enable this option to show original size uploaded image as featured image in post and page.

Modified Post Date: You can enable this option to show modified post date in single post and pages.

Author Avatar: You can enable this option to show author avatar in single post and page.

Drop Cap: You can enable this option to show first letter of word in single post content.

Categories: You can enable this option to show post categories in single post.

Tags: You can enable this option to show tags in single post.

Meta Order: You can now Drag & Drop items to re-arrange the order. To hide the element click on the eye icon.

Related Posts Section Title: You can write your own title in the related section on the single post.

Related Post Taxonomy: This option allows you to display your related posts which are displayed via Category/Tags.

Element Order: You can now Drag & Drop items to re-arrange the order. To hide the element click on the eye icon.

After you have played around with the options you can hit Publish Button at the top of customizer.

Blog Layouts

Navigate to Layouts option to change the overall layouts of Single Post Layout. There are 5 different Single Post layouts in total in this pro theme. You can select on of them and hit publish on the top to reflect changes on the front end of theme.

Social Links

Here the theme allows you to add social links as well. For this

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Social Links.
  2. Enable if you want to show the social links on the Header.
  3. Create your own social links from the repeater as shown in the image below.

Social Sharing

Here the theme allows you to add social sharing as well. For this

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Social Sharing.
  2. Enable to show social sharing buttons on single post page.
  3. Enable to show floating social sharing buttons on single post page.
  4. Enable to show open graph tags. Note:If you’re using Jetpack, Yoast or other plugin to maintain Open Graph meta tags then disable this option.
  5. Create your own social sharing. You can Drag & Drop items to re-arrange the order of social sharing buttons. To hide the social share click on the eye icon.

Dynamic Sidebar

Add dynamic sidebars. To use the added sidebars in the drop-downs below you need to save the changes and reload the customizer. You can add content to the sidebars in Appearance->Widgets.For this

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Dynamic Sidebar.
  2. You can add new sidebars and select a sidebar in different Sidebars.

Sidebar Layouts

We offer several sidebar layouts in our theme. For this

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Sidebar Layouts.
  2. There are 4 different layouts for page and post. There are 3 different layouts for blog and default.
  3. Hit Publish after the changes.

Typography Settings

One of the major benefits in the theme is we offer Typography settings for Body and Headings. For this

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Typography Settings.
  2. If you want to to load google fonts from your own server instead of google’s CDN, enable this option. This solves privacy concerns with Google’s CDN and their sometimes less-than-transparent policies.
  3. You can change Body fonts and size from the Body Font settings.
  4. Hit Publish after the changes.

Performance Settings

If you want to make your website faster then there are some options you can explore. For this

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Performance Settings..
  2. Hit Publish after the changes.

Lazy Load: Enable to lazy load featured images in this option.

Lazy Load Content Images: Enable to lazy load images inside page/post content this option.

Lazy Load Gravatar: Enable to lazy load gravatar image.

Defer JavaScript: Enable to add “defer” attribute to script tags enable this option which improve page download speed.

Ver parameters: Enable to remove “ver” parameter from CSS and JS file calls enable this option.

Combined JS: Enable to call one minified JS file enable this option. Remember this option can break your site therefore backup of your site is recommended.

Combined CSS: Enable to To call one minified CSS file enable this option.

Analytics Code

Paste your Google Analytics or other JavaScript code here. Please make sure your code is wrapped with < script > tags.

In Footer: If you want to add google analytics on footer then tick this option.

Misc Settings

There are several miscellaneous settings . For this

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Theme Option > Misc Settings.
  2. Hit Publish after the changes.

Admin Bar: Enable to hide Admin Bar in front-end when logged in enable this option.

Lightbox: Enable to show larger version of image in stylized pop-up box without leaving the current page enable this option.

Last Widget Sticky: Enable to stick last widget in sidebar enable this option.

Drop Cap: Enable to show first letter of word in page content enable this option.

Pre Loader: Enable to show preloader on page load enable this option.

Back To Top: Enable to show backtotop option in the site.

Dark Mode: Enable to show dar mode option.

Pagination: Select Pagination Type.

Footer Copyright Settings

You can change footer copyright and use your own custom text from here. Use [the-year] shortcode to display current year & [the-site-link] shortcode to display site link.

Hide Author Link: You can disable author link.

Hide WordPress Link: You can disable WordPress link.

Widgets

By default, WordPress supports widgets. You can edit widgets in WordPress by two way. You can either open a Dashboard and go to widgets under Appearance Tab or you can do this with the help of Customizer. Here are Tips on how you can do it with customizer.

Adding Widgets via Customizer

  1. Go to Appearance > Customizer > Widgets in the WordPress menu
  2. To add a widget, first click on a widget area. In the panel, click on Add a Widget. The Customizer will show all of the available widgets that you can add.
  3. Scroll the alphabetized list of widgets on customizer, or else you can use the search field at the top to find the desired widget. Then, click on a widget to add it. The Customizer will then display a box to configure the widget’s settings.
  4. When you’ve finished updating these fields, click Close on the bottom left of the widget box. You can also reopen and update a widget using the small down-facing arrow, or remove it by clicking Delete.
  5. You can reorder these widget panels as well — hover over one and mouse-click to select and drag it up or down, depending on where you’d like it to display. After making your changes, don’t forget to save them by hitting the blue Save & Publish button at the top of the panel.

Footer Settings

You can just add your own Copyright Text in Footer Copyright.

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Footer Settings section.
  2. Now add your Copyright Text on Footer Copyright.
  3. After that click Publish.

Additional CSS

You can just add your own CSS in Additional CSS.

  1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS section.
  2. Now add your own CSS on Additional CSS section.
  3. After that click Publish.
